Dinner Party at the home of Roberta Allison

Hello Foodies,

A gray and rainy Sunday did not deter fun-loving friends from an afternoon of culinary excess at the seaside home of Roberta Allison.

We started off in the right direction with mini flutes of creamy rice punctuated with a myriad of delicate vegetable bits. This had been  prepared by Jean-Luc Wittner and this delicious amuse-bouche led the way for. Roberta's succulent grilled skewers of shrimp and scallops. Unfortunately Lynne Gassiraro was laid up with a broken foot, but her sidekick,

Lisa Jacobs, helped out by making Lynne's excellent shrimp and corn chowder. Sally Larhette was unable to attend but her corn and blueberry muffins were an unforgettable treat as was Triet Nguyen's Southeast Asian shrimp with herbs and spices enlivening the taste buds. As if this were not enough Karen Moss's broccoli slaw with cranberries, Isabel Chesak's fiery shrimp ceviche  and Steve O'Brien's cheesy corn casserole were  on the menu along with Kris Piat's summery lobster salad with cucumber garnish.

Wines were poured in abundance and dessert was a delight well appreciated. Not only did we enjoy Lisa Jacob's toasty hazlenut shortbread but there was also a vibrant and colorful assortment of  Jean-Luc's delicate and delightful macarons These were a dessert lover's dream and nothing better could have concluded this seaside repast.
